Since 1990, Free Country has manufactured casual outerwear and active wear inspired by a modern, active lifestyle - creating compelling designs through a fusion of active performance and fashion. The aim is to create "authentic outerwear with a not-too-serious attitude, that people will have fun wearing".
Beyond the marketing blurb, however, Free Country has established itself as a reliable source of up-to-date, affordable outdoor basics, just the thing you need if you are after some everyday outdoor gear. The tall sizes offer an extra couple of inches on the arm and body in their Tall sizes. These range from Large (chest 42 inches and upwards) up to 4XL with around 15 styles in this extended size range.
For tall soft-shell jackets, fleeces and more serious coats, Free Country is definitely worth a look. When I checked, the pants did not come in tall sizes. Tall coats, outdoor gear and winter sportswear are probably the most difficult tall items to find - a point lamented by Tim Hopper over at www.ultratall-ultralight.com.
