Revisiting the men's tall jeans selection at Sheplers

The last time I wrote about Sheplers was back in 2010 (see here) so I thought it was worth going back to see whether they still offer the same wide selection for tall men. I wouldn't be writing this post if they didn't.

Their range of brands is heavily geared towards the traditional Western style rather than trendy distressed denim with fancy labels. However, with a range of prices from $20 to $75, you can get everything from a reliable pair of everyday jeans to the higher end brands of Ariat, Stetson or Rock & Roll Cowboy that offer a bit more style. And with well over 100 styles in a 36 inch inseam and at least 40 styles with a 38 inch inseam, you have a good chance of finding something you like!

While you can easily find brands like Wrangler, Levi's or Carhartt elsewhere (see other posts for suggestions) many of the brands at Shepler's are not so widely available. For instance Stetson, Ely Cattleman, Schaeffer Ranchwear and others. You can now search by exact size as well as brand on the web site, avoiding the typical problem of spending 90% of your time looking at jeans that are not going to fit you.

All in all, you should definitely take a look at Shepler's any time you're looking for jeans in tall sizes. You can also find a good range of tall fittings in Western shirts (lots of plaid, button down pockets) if that's something you're in to.

Outside the US, you're going to have difficulty finding most of these brands in tall sizes online, with the possible exception of Wrangler. All but the biggest denim brands tend to be regional, not global. In Europe, you can try Yoox and Dress for Less for a good selection of denim with some tall sizes, but you will have to look hard to find tall sizes as these are end of season sites that don't stock all sizes for all styles.
