As a Father's Day gift, or just to refresh your summer wardrobe, well fitting T shirts are always useful. But for tall men, finding any tall fitting T shirts is a challenge, and finding ones that are fashionable or decent quality is even harder. So if you're fed up with buying XL or XXL T shirts because you can't find anything better, take a look at some of the options below!
Eddie Bauer Tall Size T Shirts
Eddie Bauer has a long history of producing quality clothing and they have one of the better ranges for tall men (an extra two inches of length is not going to suit you if you are much above 6'6" / 198cm but it's still better than most stores). They are one of only a few retailers to produce Medium Tall sizes that will suit tall slim men.
Single color T shirts are an essential wardrobe basic and Eddie Bauer provides a basic style with variations; with a pocket, sleeveless and, slim fit. There are over ten colors available in the Legend wash, a soft fabric that is treated to reduce shrinkage and fading. The more casual Island wash offers 'sunwashed' color and a well-worn, casual feel. All are available in tall sizes from Medium Tall to XXL Tall and are at least a generous 31 inches in length.

Eddie Bauer also offer some tall graphic T shirts and also polo shirts that are made from 'lustrous and silky' pima cotton. The interlock style includes a number of horizontal striped styles - these emphasise width rather than height, so work well for tall thin men.
Tall Men's T Shirts from American Eagle
If you're after something a bit more youthful with a reasonable price tag, try American Eagle Outfitters. Their selection is aimed at fashion for 20-30 year olds, but there's plenty of choice and any tall man should check out their selection. The Large Tall size has a generous back length of 31 inches (32 inches in XXL Tall).
Some Other Tall Options
Original Penguin, a brand of Perry Ellis, has at least one style of Large Tall (LT) and Extra Large Tall (XLT) T shirt in addition to Big sizes. Tall Men's Clothing Distribution LLC., a new company offering tall T-shirts run by 6'6" Kevin McDermott offers fitted T shirts suitable for tall men who are not broad. While they are not cheap for a plain T shirt, there are usually some discount coupons available on the site and shipping is currently free.
And finally, in our Tall Hall of Shame, comes Hanes Brands. This is a company that claims to be the largest supplier of apparel essentials in the US and "credits its success to anticipating what consumers want and innovating to meet those needs". So how do they anticipate the needs of tall men? With the grand total of . . . 2 options for tall people (one round neck T shirt available only in white, one Polo Shirt available in four colors), as well as some Big & Tall sizes. They think, it seems, that tall people do not need the range of colors or styles that Hanes offers to other customers, nor for that matter underwear or nightwear. ReplyDeleteI agree! My oldest son has a long torso, but he's average build, so he uses a medium sized t-shirt. Almost always t-shirts are too short for his build. I can try and find tall t-shirts, but they don't always come in medium and when they do the selection is very poor or very plain.
